Home Electrolysis

Performing home electrolysis for hair removal will never provide the same standard of results as can be obtained from going to a professional electrolysis practitioner.

That said, some level of permanent hair removal can be obtained if the right equipment and techniques are used.

Starting Home Electrolysis

Before starting to use your home electrolysis equipment, always thoroughly read the instructions first. This will ensure you are prepared for any eventuality whilst using your electrolysis equipment.

For optimum results, try and get a home electrolysis kit that uses a blunt needle to be inserted alongside the hair follicle. Some equipment comes with a pair of electric tweezers. These will not provide as good results.

A week or two before you intend to carry out your home electrolysis session use a depilatory cream or wax the area to be treated. This will remove the existing hairs and allow you to treat the new hairs that grow through in the following few weeks. The reason for this is that hair will respond much better to the electrolysis process when it is early in a growth cycle.

Tips For Home Electrolysis

Always keep your equipment cleaned and sterilized. Using dirty equipment will lead to infections which could cause more severe complications.

When performing the electrolysis process, do not randomly remove hairs. Focus your attention on an area approx 1 inch square. This will allow you to methodically remove the hairs as you progress.
